Today, May 17th is Norwegian Constitution Day, a national holiday back in Norway. We don't take the day off here in Canada, but we will make some time today to celebrate with some other Norwegians living on Gabriola. Apr. 14 – Shakuhachi Fundamentals Workshop, 3pm-6pm at 1051 Pat Burns Ave. Shakuhachi Grandmaster, Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos will talk about fundamental techniques and philosophy and teach a folk piece and honkyoku zen piece to those who would like to gain experience and knowledge of traditional playing techniques and shakuhachi music.
